Who can I meet on MAJU?
MAJU helps people from abroad and Koreans living in Korea find local friends. If you’re looking for Korean guy friends, explore their profiles to see where they’re based, the languages they speak, and what they enjoy.
Are meetups group events?
No. Meetups connect you one-on-one. The person who posted picks who they’d like to hang out with from the applicants and accepts them one at a time.
How do I post a meetup?
Add a photo, a title, a description and your area, and your meetup stays up for 72 hours. Posting is free. You can’t edit a meetup once it’s posted, so check it once more before you post.
Should I use the app or the web?
Either works. If you’d like a notification when new recommendations arrive, we recommend the app. The iPhone app is coming soon — until then, start on the web.
I joined on the web. Can I use the app too?
Yes. Log in to the app with your web account, and your profile and remaining hearts are all there.
I don’t speak Korean.
Every profile shows the languages that person speaks. Look for someone you share a language with.
Can Koreans join too?
Yes. MAJU is open to Koreans and people from abroad.
Do I get recommendations right after I join?
Yes. You receive recommended profiles as soon as you join, and new ones every Monday after that.
Can I message someone straight away?
When you both send a like you become friends. That's when you exchange contact details, and you continue the conversation there.
Do I have to pay to join?
No. Joining, creating a profile, receiving recommendations and posting meetups are free. You pay only when you top up hearts for likes, Super Likes and meetup applications.
Is there a location restriction?
No. Anyone living in Korea can join, wherever you are.
